Terms
Requester Pay Signing Terms
- I, the Permittee, agree to accept the sign(s) format, design, structure and location, when installed on the County highway system, as determined by St. Louis County in conformance with the Minnesota Manual on Uniform Traffic Control Devices.
- St. Louis County is not responsible to maintain Requested Sign assemblies installed off the County highway system (installed on a township road or city street). Ownership and maintenance of these Requested Sign assemblies is the responsibility of the requester.
- In the event my Requested Sign assembly, or assemblies, are damaged or vandalized beyond the control of St. Louis County, I, the Permittee, agree to be responsible for costs associated with repair or replacement. A sign assembly consists of sign supports and sign panel. As the Permittee, I understand that I have the option to request that my requested sign assembly, or assemblies, not be repaired or replaced in which event St. Louis County will remove my requested sign assembly, or assemblies, at no cost to the Permittee, when on the County highway system.
- In the event my Requested Sign assembly, or assemblies, are damaged by St. Louis County equipment or vehicles, or roadway construction or maintenance activities, St. Louis County will be responsible for the costs associated with repair or replacement.
- When my Requested Sign assembly, or assemblies, have exceeded the service life of 10 years from the date of installation or have reached a state of natural deterioration that requires replacement, whichever occurs first, I, the Permittee, agree to reapply to St. Louis County Requester Pay Signing Program if desired to continue with the program. When either of these conditions occur, St. Louis County reserves the right to permanently remove my Requested Sign assembly, or assemblies, at no cost to the Permittee, when on the County highway system.
- I, the Permittee, agree that St. Louis County reserves the right to temporarily or permanently remove or relocate my Requested Sign assembly, or assemblies, due to roadway construction or maintenance on the County highway system, or conflicts associated with changes to existing traffic signs or installation of new traffic signs on the County highway system. In the event my Requested Sign assembly, or assemblies, must be permanently removed by St. Louis County, St. Louis County will refund the prorated value of the remaining service life based upon a 10-year period from the date of installation and the original application fee. In the event my Requested Sign assembly, or assemblies, must be permanently relocated, this work will be completed by St. Louis County at no cost to the Permittee.
- Applicant may obtain the salvaged sign(s) panel within 30 days of removal, on condition that the sign(s) shall not be reinstalled on any public right of way, nor shall it be reinstalled in any location readily visible to any motor vehicle on the County highway system.
- I, the Permittee, herewith accept the terms and conditions of the regulations of St. Louis County and agree to fully comply herewithin to the satisfaction of the St. Louis County Public Works Department. St. Louis County may remove the sign(s) for any failure to comply with these terms and/or non-payment of any repair or replacement costs.
